Zindagi Fellowship 3rd Batch Orientation
We are thrilled to share about the commencement of the third cohort of the Zindagi Fellowship program at Project Mukti!
This year, we welcomed eight fellows from diverse regions of India, representing a spectrum of entrepreneurial aspirations and backgrounds. Based on the success of the previous two cohorts, we marked the beginning of the third cohort of Zindagi Fellows, intending to empower women entrepreneurs from marginalized communities and to drive their entrepreneurial journey through our comprehensive modules and training on Financial Literacy, Basic Entrepreneurship Training, Business English, Computer knowledge, and Personal Development.
The orientation program at the Integrated Social Initiatives (ISI) in New Delhi spanned three enriching days filled with insightful sessions, engaging activities, and valuable interactions. The highlights of each day:
Day 1: Building Foundations
The orientation began with introductions from the Project Mukti team, emphasizing their commitment to supporting the fellows throughout their journey. Our Director Sanghapali shared her inspiring experiences as a Dalit woman, highlighting the pivotal role of education and family support in her personal and professional growth. The session underscored Zindagi Fellowship's mission to empower marginalized communities, showcasing how targeted efforts in personal & professional development, networking, and building business acumen can lead to realizing one's dreams.
An interactive activity encouraged fellows to share the challenges and triumphs of their respective states, fostering a sense of unity and diversity. The director, Sanghapali, also shared inspiring stories of stalwarts like Savitribai Phule and Fatima Sheikh, showcasing how their contributions impacted and urging fellows to work towards creating a similar change.
Day 2: Immersive Learning and Skill Development
On the second day, we focused on practical skills, with sessions on computer orientation, laptop safety, and digital training. Practical exercises ensured that all fellows were comfortable with technology, setting them up for success in the program. The faculty introduced subjects such as Personal Development, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurship Training, instilling the fellows with a renewed sense of purpose and determination.
Day 3: Reflections and Aspirations
On the final day, we featured videos of former fellows from the previous cohorts, sharing their experiences and how the fellowship helped them scale their businesses.
The day concluded with reflections from the fellows on their orientation experience and aspirations for the future. The team reiterated the importance of commitment and adherence to the fellowship's norms and Code of Conduct to be followed during the fellowship.
Looking Ahead: A Journey of Entrepreneurship & Empowerment
As the third cohort of the Zindagi Fellowship embarks on this transformative journey, Project Mukti remains committed to providing mentorship, skills, and support. The fellowship aims to empower marginalized individuals, enabling them to achieve their full potential and create meaningful change in their communities.
Zindagi Fellowship will be a 4-month, full-time commitment designed to equip fellows with the skills and knowledge needed to start and grow their own businesses. At the end of the fellowship, fellows must submit a business plan. If the plan is deemed viable and the fellow's involvement in the fellowship is exemplary, they will be awarded a seed fund to kickstart their entrepreneurial journey.
The Integrated Social Initiatives, New Delhi orientation program laid a strong foundation for the fellows, equipping them with the skills and mindset needed to succeed. Project Mukti looks forward to witnessing the growth and impact of the fellows as they embark on this empowering journey.
Here's to a successful and impactful journey for the third cohort of the Zindagi Fellowship program!
